Microbldading is the technique of creating fine individual hair strokes to create the appearance of darker or fuller brows. Microblading can be the solution to areas in the brows missing hair, or to correct asymmetries. This service can either be done alone or with the shading technique in the Combination Brow. Microblading is perfect for those missing a few hairs in areas or who wish to keep the appearance of a natural brow look. 

The Shading or Powder Brow technique is a form of shading with pigments that can be applied manually or by machine that give the brows a soft filled in appearance. 

The Blade & Shade or the Combination Brow combines microblading and the shading Powder Brow technique to create the appearance of "filled in" brows with visible hair strokes. This technique may be better suited for those who have hair loss, previous permanent make up, have oily skin, or those who prefer a make-up ready look.

Depending on many factors such as: oiliness of skin, hidden scar tissue, skin care routines with retinol or other prescribed topical medications Microbladed brows can usually last anywhere between 12 months to 2 years. It's recommended to have a yearly touch up session to maintain and 'refresh' appearance of brows.

Depending on the service, microblading sessions can last anywhere from 2 hours to 3.5 hours. At Sol Y Mar Studio, you and your brows are taken very seriously and will never be rushed. 

The healing time may be different for everyone, however usual skin healing takes a minimum of 1 month. The first few days after the session the brows will get 40% darker then begin to lighten by the end of the first week. By weeks 2 and 3 the brow color will begin to appear again with the new skin. During the healing time, it's strongly recommended to follow the after care instructions in order to achieve the best results: 

• Avoid water in the treated area until 7 days have passed after microblading treatment
• Avoid heavy sweating and exercise for 3-5 days
• Avoid any treatments involving touching the brows such as facials, lash extensions, etc for 10 days
• Avoid sauna, steam room, swimming in the ocean, and or swimming pool for 10 days
• Avoid using make up on the eyebrows for at least 10 days, blush, lipstick or eye make up can be used
• No other ointments other than Angel Care Gel should be used for 7 days
• Neosporin or Bacitracin type products should be avoided in the treated area because they may  negatively affect color retention
• Sunbathing and tanning beds should be avoided for 10 days

With each initial session, a touch up session is required to achieve the final and best results. It's highly recommended to plan big events accordingly and ahead of time.
